FAQ
Lickstones:
No, none of our products contain glucose. Depending on the variety, the 3kg licks contain 0.1 - 0.3% molasses, which is so low that according to EU regulations it does not even have to be listed, but we want to be transparent and therefore state everything that is in it, no matter how small 😉
Our Lolly-Licks are completely free from molasses or glucose and are also grain-free.
We generally recommend only providing a lick from the 6th month onwards, as excessive salt intake can lead to diarrhoea in foals! In general, but especially with young horses, you should pay attention to how much the horse engages with the lick so that you can keep an eye on excessive salt intake and, if necessary, remove the lick and only offer it on an hourly basis.
No, in order to compensate for existing deficiencies, the minerals contained would have to be extremely highly dosed. The formulations of our products developed especially for horses, on the other hand, focus on keeping horses healthy and preventing deficiency symptoms. Thanks to our lickstones, horses can therefore be supplied with all the important minerals, trace elements and vitamins that the animal's body needs to stay healthy and vital, thus preventing the development of deficiencies.
If a deficit in the mineral supply is suspected, we generally recommend consulting a vet! If a deficit is diagnosed, e.g. by means of a blood count, this usually has to be balanced and built up again with special, high-dose preparations.
Lolly-Licks:
Our Lolly-Lick is an activity toy, i.e. a horse toy that provides more variety and activity for your horse and therefore effectively alleviates boredom and restlessness!
No, our Lolly-Licks contain neither glucose nor molasses and therefore clearly stand out from most conventional horse toys! Our aim with Lolly-Licks was to create a healthy horse toy and we have succeeded 😊 The basic ingredient is sea salt with natural iodine, supplemented with minerals + trace elements and rich in vitamins. Natural ingredients such as rosehip or camomile round off the healthy recipe, depending on the variety.
There are actually many ways to attach our lolly licks! We recommend attaching lolly licks in our suspension holder! But they also fit perfectly in a LIKIT holder, in the Bizzy Ball or can simply be attached with a rope! Take a look at our photo gallery, you're sure to find some inspiration here 😊
Lolly-Licks can be given to your horse permanently without hesitation, as they contain no sugary glucose or molasses and are also grain-free!
